The main emotion expressed is anxiety. To start, this is the original French version:

Mes sens me trahissent, l’Angoisse m’attrape.

L’Avenir tout sourire me tend plusieurs clefs d’or,

Laquelle mon Âme prendra pour mon Bonheur ?

This is a personal version translated in English:

Ô my father,

Lost in the fog, I miss you a lot.

Hit, injured, I can no longer stand the blows.

My senses betray me, Anguish catches me.

The world I see scares and hits me.

I was able to flee the Terror, but now empty,

I can no longer move, very wobbly.

I am looking for Light and a landmark along border.

Everything is black in front of me, where are you, ô my father?

I dream wide awake, protection wearing,

A golden armor, and an all-powerful guide

Lighting my dark path to Lady Healing.

I feel a Great Love prisoner in my chest.

The smiling Future hands me several golden keys,

Which one will my Soul take for my Happiness?
